Security Engineer | Farnham, UK
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Security Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems across a variety of client sites.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Experience with structured cabling, integrated security systems, and fault finding is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, commission, and maintain CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
- Carry out site surveys and assess client requirements to design effective security solutions.
- Install and test structured cabling and associated infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve faults on security systems efficiently and professionally.
- Integrate CCTV and access control systems with other security and network infrastructure where required.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections to ensure systems operate at peak performance.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation of installed systems.
- Complete all installation and service documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards, health and safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through excellent communication and customer service.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Security Engineer installing and maintaining electronic security systems.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and structured cabling.
- Good understanding of IP networking, telecommunications, and integrated security systems.
- Experience with fault finding and system commissioning.
- Ability to read technical drawings and system schematics.
- Competent in the use of power tools and installation equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence required.
